Questions
What is The Florida Living Manual?
Two downloadable guides. Choosing Your Place helps you decide where in Florida to live: eleven region profiles and 780 town cards. Living Here & Staying Ready is your household plan for storms, outages and medical needs once you're here.
Does it need internet?
No. Each product is a single file you open in your phone's or computer's browser. After you download it, it works offline, which matters most when a storm takes the power and cell service with it.
Where do the facts come from?
Government data and published sources: the U.S. Census Bureau, NOAA and the National Weather Service, CMS hospital data, the Florida Division of Emergency Management, county offices and others. Every fact has a numbered footnote to its source.
Is this an official government guide?
No. It's an independent publication. It points you to the official sources and tells you how things generally work; it isn't legal, tax, insurance or medical advice.
Which parts of Florida does it cover?
All of it, in eleven regions from the Panhandle to the Keys. Living Here & Staying Ready has county emergency numbers for every region; you pick yours inside.
Who makes it?
Charles Squires, a North Port resident, publishing through CHEWZI.NET LLC, a Florida company. It's independent: no one pays to be in it, and it has no affiliate links.
What if it isn't for me?
Ask for a refund within 30 days of buying and you get your money back.
Can I give it to my clients or residents?
Yes. Realtors, insurance agents, movers, 55+ communities and employers can buy a yearly partner license and give both products away with their own name on the home screen. See the partner page at flmanual.com/bulk.
Is it for renters and mobile-home owners too?
Yes. The checklists, cost calculator and scorecard have separate steps and questions for renters, owners, condos and mobile homes on land or in a park.
